Our local caregivers working in acute and emergency room care have asked for your help to purchase the following items:

  • 12 Patient Room Recliners ($23,154)

    • They currently do not have enough recliners for all patient rooms. They would like to have a recliner for each room as they are highly used by patients and their families and provide an extra bit of comfort during difficult times. They need 12 to have one in each room, but would even appreciate a few new ones.

  • Bladder Scanner ($11,700)

    • Their current bladder scanner will be obsolete by the end of this year and has had to be sent in to be recalibrated and repaired several times. This new equipment will not only benefit the Acute Care department, but the ER and Outpatient departments as well.

  • 10 IV Poles ($4,051)

    • They would like 10 new poles to replace some of the older poles which are rusty and difficult to push. These would also benefit the ER and Outpatient departments.

    • TCLMH currently has 2 full sets of manikins and 4 AED trainers which are over 15 years old and need to be updated to comply with AHA requirements. This equipment is used for CPR certification and first aid training in partnerships throughout the community, including fire departments, local coaches, local daycares, and community classes.

Our local caregivers working in emergency room and outpatient services have asked for your help to purchase the following items:

  • Digital Standing Scale ($755)

    • Many medications in used in the ER, Outpatient, and Acute departments are dosed according to patient weight in kilograms. This is particularly important in pediatrics. A standing scale that provides weight in kilograms for children and adults would be beneficial so that providers may use precise patient weight information when prescribing medications.

  • IV Vein Light ($5,795)

    • If you’ve ever had to endure several attempts to locate your vein for a blood test due to dehydration or chronic illness, you already understand how useful this tool will be. This light allows caregivers to easily identify veins in patients that are a hard IV start, saving them from repeated attempts. It could be used by the ER, Acute Care, and even the lab.

  • 2 Hill-Rom Stretchers ($12,167)

    • The stretchers in the exam rooms are getting a bit old and rusty. Some have cracked bases, making them difficult to clean, which presents an infection control risk. New stretchers improve both patient comfort and safety.
