Nominations open for 2022 Wish List

Whether it is a unique wish you have or just a thought, you can help change lives.

We envision a world in which society embraces aging and the inherent wisdom that accompanies it, where seniors are celebrated for their accomplishments and sacrifices, and where intergenerational connections are part of our daily lives. You and I are left wondering…what do they need, and how can I help?

What is the Impact of Granting a Wish?

Wishes are an important part of any health care journey. Wishes can help someone feel better and give them the hope and strength they need to fight a critical illness. Health professionals use a wish as part of their treatment plan. Wish List can help your providers and the staff to better perform their jobs, when we share pride in our community, and what we are doing, it shows. Through donations and memorials, high-priority equipment will continue to change lives.

A very special Thank You to our healthcare providers!
Providers, staff, and behind the scene support are appreciated.

Your Gifts Make a Difference

Recently, the Trego Hospital Endowment Foundation, Inc. provided new furniture and televisions for the shared living spaces at the Trego County Lemke Memorial Hospital Long Term Care. We received a note of gratitude from the Director of Nursing:

The residents at long term care wanted to share some pictures with you of them enjoying the new furniture and TV’s that Endowment purchased. Adding a TV to the sunroom has been so beneficial in many ways. The sunroom is often a more quiet therapeutic environment for the residents to be while enjoying music or a therapeutic channel with animals or ocean sounds. One resident was even able to use the smart TV capabilities and sit on the sofa to watch an loved ones funeral on the TV. On most Thursdays, we do footcare in the sunroom and use the TV in the background to watch something fun such as game shows or music videos. The living room TV is used every single day by residents and the convenience of having movies are their fingertips has been a huge asset to them and the facility. The patio furniture set in the sitting area makes the space look beautiful. This is a popular gathering place for residents waiting to get into the shower as well as in the afternoons. Residents sit on the sofa to visit with each other, read the paper, or talk to the bird. We at LTC would like to send a huge THANK YOU to hospital Endowment!

LTC enjoys new Yahama piano

Music brings joy and comfort to many

Music brings “moments of joy” to residents, family, and staff. “Nobody wants to live in a nursing home,”. “Nobody wants to move their mom here or their dad here, or their spouse. So when they can witness that some are having some joy, it gives us all joy.”

Thanks to the wonderful support of donors and exceptional volunteers, the Trego Hospital Endowment Foundation was able through the diligence and time of Sherry Galloway and Carolyn Riggs to locate a new Yamaha electric piano for TCLMH Long Term Care.

Give the Gift of Joy

The holiday season is in full swing. We’ve hung the lights, made our lists and checked them twice, and already used the snow shovel more often than we’d like. It’s a wonderful time to get together with those we love most, eat a little too much, and look back at everything we are grateful for. It’s also the perfect time to think about how we can help those in need and make next year even better for those who are less fortunate.
