Trego Hospital Endowment Foundation wants to help transform your thoughts and ideas into reality in your own precious community. When thinking about all that has been accomplished by the disbursement of thousands of dollars (gifts given to the community, by the community). It is important to remember that the foundation’s board is made up of civic minded trustees who volunteer their time to evaluate and decide the distribution of funds (medical equipment purchases, projects, and scholarships to meet community needs), and help the best equipment. While we are fortunate to live in a community where philanthropic founders/leaders/supporters have donated generously, the financial support of most foundation projects comes from a broader population of contributors within the community.
One of the greatest challenges to survival of a community foundation is to meet and uphold federal and state guidelines, and the IRS tax codes. One of which is, IRS rule of having one-third of its income derived from current contributions. This means that even a strong foundation, cannot solely exists on its investment returns to maintain a tax-exempt status. It is continually dependent upon voluntary contributions. You can help safeguard the continued presence of local foundations in our community by making a direct donation, either on behalf of a loved one, or by a personal bequest. Either method is fully tax deductible, and it enables you to take part in giving back to your community.
