The Trego Hospital Endowment Foundation, Inc. announced the election of officers and members of its Board of Directors.
The following members were elected as officers: E. Jay Deines, President; Glennis Billinger, Vice President; Edna Mae Deines, Treasurer; Janice Flax, Co-Treasurer; and Judy Fabrizius, Secretary.
The Trego Hospital Endowment Foundation Board agreed on purchases of “Wish List” special equipment and general equipment requested for several departments at Trego County Lemke Memorial Hospital. Purchased selections at this time totaled a little over $20,000.
Money for the needed equipment was raised through various fundraisers — including the Trego Hospital Endowment Foundation’s December “Wish List” Annual Campaign, along with donor support, and contributions made to Trego Hospital Endowment Foundation. Donors and memorials can designate how funds are applied.
Major items selected for purchase include; High LEC Crash Cart plus all the extras for the Acute Care department. The board also approved for purchase a Leak Tester Endoscope for Central Services with money provided by the Bill & Mary Lou Harvey Trust. Thanks to a donation from Morgan Stanley, we were able to designate funds to purchase a Vitalgraph Simulator Inhaler Training. Marlyce Campbell, Respiratory Care coordinator, demonstrated how it worked, showing the benefits to patients and providers while noting that it would be one of the first in this part of Kansas. Additionally, the board agreed to purchase for Out Patient Procedures a UCR Endoscopic CO2 Regulation Unit with donor-provided funds. The THEF board also approved for purchase a new computerized menu system for Dietary Care, IV pumps and poles for Acute Care and ER, electric exam tables for WaKeeney Family Care, and isolation caddies to be hung on patient doors for Infection Control.
The board members and volunteers with THEF are all dedicated to improving local health care and helping the hospital. Trego Hospital Endowment Foundation would like to thank you for continuing to support our long-ago established mission focusing on the health care needs of this community. Our community came through and without support like this, we couldn’t provide the modern equipment local health caregivers need to provide world-class care right here at home.
