The Trego Hospital Endowment Foundation, Inc now has the funds to purchase a new piece of helpful medical equipment thanks to a gift from the Midwest Energy Grant, Dane G Hansen-Heartland Community Foundation, and local support.
The Biodex Balance System will be the TCLMH newest edition of high-tech medical equipment. It’s used by physical therapy and is a balance testing and training tool that helps patients that suffer from balance related issues. Physical therapists are able to assess fall risk and then recommend exercises to help improve balance, agility and muscle tone. Other applications include screening athletes for single-leg injuries, concussion management, and wellness or fitness activities.
This new machine is a great asset to our community. The Biodex gives the staff an advantage when it comes to determining how a patient with concussion or fall risk fares in the real world. This gives us a more accurate view of a patient’s balance abilities as well as challenges them when exercising on it during a therapy session. Cost for the Biodex system is $15,610.
Since 1978, many volunteers, fundraisers, campaigns, and events have gone toward purchasing medical technology and renovations for the Trego County Lemke Memorial Hospital thanks to Donors and Supporters of the Trego Hospital Endowment Foundation.
The mission of the Foundation is to help improve health care, health care education, purchase equipment to provide our local entities with the latest technology in order to benefit patients, there are times when something just does not fit into the budget. We’re pleased to be able to help our hospital provide this state-of-the-art technology that in turn will help those in the community.
The foundation raises funds through memorial gifts including the annual fundraiser Holiday Campaign.
Trego Hospital Endowment Foundation, Inc. is very grateful to the other Foundations, Friends, Supporters, and the donors who make these gifts possible. Trego Hospital Endowment Foundation places top priority on helping our community stay technologically up to date. Thanks to these gifts our patients benefit greatly, as do our physicians and staff.
