A chill in the air, the leaves changing color, and kids heading back to school are sure signs that fall is upon us. Many of our bright young people have headed off to college, and we couldn’t be prouder. We are especially grateful for our promising students who are dedicated to the medical field and have a strong commitment to our community.
One of the greatest challenges small-town America is facing today is the loss of ambitious high school graduates as they’re drawn to the bright lights of the big city. We believe one of the best ways to retain these creative and talented youngsters as well as support the development of our current caregivers is to invest in their education. This can be anything from granting scholarships for university to buying books to providing ongoing certifications and training. This investment in the future of our local healthcare providers is not only an investment in the future of Trego County, but an investment in the health of everyone in our community.
In the past year we’ve granted multiple scholarships for RN’s and CNA’s to complete their university degrees while working at Trego County Hospital. We’ve supported intensive cancer rehabilitation training for our local providers so that patients in our community can get specialized care right here at home. We continue to invest in advanced equipment training and certification so that our local healthcare heroes can provide world class care to those in need.
You can be a local healthcare hero without spending a day in school by donating to our scholarship program.
